SSD 'The Kids Will Have Their Say'

Originally released in 1982, SSD’s The Kids Will Have Their Say is one of the foundational records of Boston hardcore and a defining document of the early straight-edge movement. Raw, confrontational and completely unfiltered, the album captured a scene before hardcore had settled into formulas, laying down a blueprint that would influence generations of bands that followed. 

Featuring the original lineup of Springa, Al Barile, Jaime Sciarappa and Chris Foley, the record tears through 18 tracks of stripped-down, urgent hardcore including “Boiling Point,” “Fight Them,” “Wasted Youth,” “The Kids Will Have Their Say” and “United.” Originally issued through X-Claim with Dischord involvement, the LP became an increasingly sought-after piece of hardcore history after disappearing from print for four decades. 

This Trust Records reissue restores the album with newly remastered audio and a painstaking recreation of the original artwork by Bryan Ray Turcotte, bringing one of American hardcore’s most important early records back to vinyl.
