Piebald 'If It Weren't For Venetian Blinds It Would Be Curtains For Us All' (Deluxe)

The Deluxe 2xLP edition of Piebald’s If It Weren’t for Venetian Blinds, It Would Be Curtains for Us All expands the landmark 1999 album with 12 bonus tracks, including the long-lost God City Demos, newly remixed by Kurt Ballou, and presents the complete collection in an expanded gatefold package.

Originally released in 1999 on Big Wheel Recreation, Venetian Blinds captures Piebald at the moment they were evolving from their hardcore roots into the melodic, unpredictable, and unmistakably personal sound that would define the band.

Completely remastered for vinyl by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden, this deluxe edition restores the album with greater clarity while preserving the restless energy of the original recordings. The packaging features expanded artwork reconstructed from original source materials and photographs, along with retrospective commentary from the band.

The second LP dives deeper into the album’s history with 12 archival bonus tracks, highlighted by the previously lost God City Demos, remixed by Kurt Ballou of Converge. Together, the additional recordings offer a wider look at Piebald during one of the most important transitional periods in their career.

Coming out of the Merrimack Valley scene alongside Converge and Cave In, Piebald helped bridge the distance between underground hardcore and post-hardcore experimentation, ’90s emo, and the hook-driven indie rock that would follow. Venetian Blinds remains one of the clearest snapshots of that evolution.
