Cave In 'Perfect Pitch Black'

Cave In’s Perfect Pitch Black is one of the band’s heaviest and most volatile records, pulling together the crushing force of their early metallic hardcore with the expansive, atmospheric songwriting that defined their later work. Dense, abrasive and unpredictable, the album moves between punishing riffs, fractured rhythms and wide-open melodic passages without ever settling comfortably into one sound.

Recorded and mixed between January 2003 and May 2005 at Mad Oak in Allston, New Alliance in Boston, and Translator Audio in Brooklyn, the album was engineered and mixed by Andrew Schneider. The recordings were revisited in 2016 and remastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East, adding renewed weight and clarity to an already massive-sounding record.
