Texas Is The Reason 'TX30 Special Edition'

Formed in 1994 by members of Shelter, 108 and Ressurection, Texas Is The Reason quickly became one of the defining bands of ’90s emo and post-hardcore. Their self-titled debut EP, originally released by Revelation Records in 1995, established the sound that would lead to the landmark Do You Know Who You Are? the following year.

The TX30 Special Edition celebrates the band’s 30th anniversary with an expanded 12” edition of the original EP, including the bonus track “Something to Forget (Version I),” first released on a limited 1995 split 7” with Samuel. A reworked version of the song later appeared on Do You Know Who You Are?, produced by J. Robbins of Jawbox.

This edition features expanded artwork and a booklet with previously unseen photos, flyers and archival material, documenting the earliest chapter of Texas Is The Reason. A specially designed obi strip connects the release visually with the complete TX30 series.

An essential document of one of the most influential bands to emerge from the intersection of hardcore, emo and post-hardcore in the 1990s.
