Shai Hulud 'Just Can't Hate Enough'

Just Can’t Hate Enough is an eight-song EP from Shai Hulud, bringing together four original songs with four covers that pay tribute to the hardcore and punk bands that helped shape their sound.

Originally released digitally in 2015, the EP bridges the gap between 2013’s Reach Beyond the Sun and the next chapter of Shai Hulud’s catalog. Rather than stretching into the broader dynamics of a full-length, the band keeps things direct: short, fast, furious, and built around the tightly wound melodic hardcore and metallic intensity that has defined them for decades.

The first half features “Sincerely Hated,” “Colder Than the Cold World,” “The Fucking Silence,” and a new recording of “A Profound Hatred of Man.” The second half turns outward with covers of A Chorus of Disapproval, Sheer Terror, Excel, and Propagandhi, including guest appearances from members of Comeback Kid, Strongarm / Further Seems Forever, War on Women, Stick To Your Guns, and A Chorus of Disapproval.

Thematically, the songs return to the ideas that have always run through Shai Hulud’s work: frustration with human behavior, resistance to complacency, the value of reason, and the difficulty of communicating in a world increasingly resistant to uncomfortable truths.

Reissued on vinyl by Iodine Recordings, Just Can’t Hate Enough is presented as a limited 12" EP with a silkscreened B-side, available in multiple color variants.
