Policy Of 3 'Anthology'

Policy of 3’s Anthology collects the complete studio recordings of one of the defining bands of early-’90s emotive hardcore, available here as a limited double LP.

Formed out of the New Jersey and Philadelphia hardcore scenes, Policy of 3 grew from the earlier band Matter of Fact and became a vital bridge between the late-’80s Washington, DC hardcore sound and the increasingly emotional, political, and experimental hardcore that would emerge around labels like Ebullition and Gravity during the 1990s.

Recorded between 1993 and 1995, these 17 songs collect the band’s studio output, including material from their two 7"s, full-length, and compilation appearances. Songs like “Nine Years Old,” “Canyon,” “1%,” “Mind Over Matter,” “Space Cadet,” “Let It Build,” and “Twelve Years Down” capture the tension, restraint, urgency, and deeply personal intensity that made Policy of 3 such an important influence on what would later be called emo and screamo.

Policy of 3 originally existed from 1989 to 1995, touring the United States and Europe and becoming a fixture of East Coast DIY spaces before reuniting in 2025. Their music remains a powerful document of a moment when hardcore was becoming more melodic, introspective, and politically engaged without losing any of its intensity.

This 2026 U.S. vinyl edition is a cooperative release between Ebullition Records and Protagonist Music, pressed on recycled graphite gray vinyl and limited to 500 copies.
