Paint It Black ‘Famine’

Formed in Philadelphia in 2002, Paint It Black have spent more than two decades pushing hardcore punk forward without losing its urgency, directness or sense of purpose.

Released in 2023, Famine marked the band’s first new record in ten years and their first release for Revelation Records. Across eight tightly wound songs, Paint It Black turn frustration, vulnerability and political unrest into some of the most focused and immediate music of their career.

Recorded live to tape with Jack Shirley, Famine captures the physical energy of the band playing together in a room while giving the songs the weight and clarity they deserve. Vocalist Dan Yemin is joined by Josh Agran, Andy Nelson and Jared Shavelson, with the record balancing speed, melody and abrasion in the way Paint It Black does best.
