Orange 9mm 's/t'

Formed in New York City in 1992 by Burn vocalist Chaka Malik, Orange 9mm fused the urgency of hardcore with groove-heavy rhythms, alternative rock and the emerging sound of early-’90s post-hardcore.

Originally released as a 7”, the band’s self-titled debut captures Orange 9mm at the beginning, featuring Malik alongside Chris Traynor on guitar, Eric Rice on bass and Larry Gorman on drums. Raw, rhythmic and immediately distinctive, these early recordings established the foundation for the sound the band would develop throughout the decade.

Orange 9mm went on to release full-length albums through EastWest and Atlantic Records and tour alongside Quicksand, Biohazard, Deftones and others, becoming an important link between New York hardcore, post-hardcore and the alternative music explosion of the 1990s.

Now reissued on 12” vinyl, this release brings Orange 9mm’s essential earliest material back to vinyl in an expanded format.
