Khanate 'S/T'

Across five tracks, the band established a sound built as much from silence and tension as from sheer volume. Massive guitar chords hang in open space, drums arrive with punishing restraint, and Dubin’s vocals cut through the mix with an almost unbearable sense of dread.

Songs like “Pieces of Quiet,” “Skin Coat,” “Torching Koroviev,” “Under Rotting Sky,” and “No Joy” stretch doom and drone into something harsher and more psychological, with unpredictable structures and long passages that make every shift in dynamics feel enormous.

Produced by James Plotkin, the record remains a defining statement of early-2000s drone metal: slow, suffocating, confrontational, and completely uninterested in conventional song structure.
