Jeromes Dream ‘LP’

Formed in 1997, Jeromes Dream helped define the intensely emotional and confrontational strain of hardcore that would become known as emoviolence, alongside bands like Orchid, pg.99 and Reversal of Man. After dissolving in 2001, the trio of Jeff Smith, Nick Antonopoulos and Erik Ratensperger remained inactive for 17 years.

In 2018, Jeromes Dream reunited with the intention of creating new music rather than simply revisiting the past. Despite living on opposite coasts, the three began writing together again and entered the studio in 2019 with Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Loma Prieta, Gouge Away, Joyce Manor).

The resulting 12-song self-titled LP reconnects directly with the volatility and unpredictability of the band’s early work while reflecting nearly two decades of experience, loss and change. Jagged bursts of violence give way to moments of space and clarity, while the lyrics move beyond the youthful cynicism of their earliest material toward questions of empathy, isolation, self-awareness and powerlessness in an increasingly fractured world.

Raw, dynamic and unmistakably Jeromes Dream, the album captures a band returning not as an exercise in nostalgia, but with something new to say.
