Hey Thanks! 'Start/Living'

Start/Living is the debut full-length from Louisiana’s hey thanks., blending emo, indie-pop, electronic rock, and ’90s alternative into twelve songs built around huge hooks and deeply personal songwriting.

Formed outside New Orleans, the band developed a sound that pulls equally from guitar-driven emo and polished pop, pairing bright melodies and electronic textures with lyrics about youth, longing, love, and figuring out where you belong.

The album includes “From Me 2 U” and “The Part I Call Myself,” two songs that capture the balance at the heart of Start/Living: immediate enough to feel like pop songs, but grounded in the emotional weight and restless energy of the DIY scene the band came from.

Start/Living was produced and engineered by Gary Cioni at Sound Acres Studio (Hot Mulligan, Crime In Stereo, Sorority Noise), mixed by Brett Romnes (The Movielife, Heart Attack Man, The Front Bottoms, Oso Oso), and mastered by Mike Kalajian (New Found Glory, Silverstein, The Devil Wears Prada).

Before the album’s release, hey thanks. built a following throughout the Gulf Coast and beyond through relentless touring, Warped Tour appearances, and shows with artists including Save Face, We The Kings, Metro Station, Greet Death, Bad Luck, Sundressed, and Super American.
