About the Album
Hey Thanks. return with their sophomore full-length, Avoidance, stepping back from trying to explain everything and instead sitting in uncertainty. The record lives in that in-between space, where moments repeat, thoughts loop, and meaning stays just out of reach.
The band leans into a more melodic, synth-forward sound, pulling closer to indie rock and synth pop. Guitars and synths move together over bright, steady rhythms, giving the songs a sense of motion that never quite settles. On the surface it feels open and immediate, but there’s a tension running underneath.
Lyrically, Avoidance reflects on time, identity, and emotional distance, exploring the space between love and desire and the search for belonging. Rather than offering clarity, the songs stay with the questions.
Recorded entirely in the band’s home studio, the album was built piece by piece using live drum samples, layered percussion, guitar, and synths, allowing each track to take shape naturally.
