Her Head's On Fire 'College Rock and Clove Cigarettes'

College Rock & Clove Cigarettes is the debut full-length from Her Head’s On Fire, an indie rock and post-hardcore band featuring members of Saves the Day, Garrison, Small Brown Bike, The Casket Lottery, The Bomb, and Gay for Johnny Depp.

Across ten songs, the band channels the melodic urgency of Samiam, the restless energy of Superchunk, the fuzz and weight of Dinosaur Jr., and the emotional pull of bands like Farside and Sense Field. The result is a record built around huge melodies, ringing guitars, and the kind of earnest songwriting that defined the best corners of ’90s college rock, emo, and post-hardcore.

Rather than leaning on nostalgia, College Rock & Clove Cigarettes uses those influences as a starting point, pairing familiar left-of-the-dial textures with sharp hooks and a deeply personal sense of momentum.

The album followed the band’s split release with J. Robbins, expanding that early promise into a full-length that feels equally at home alongside classic emo, melodic punk, and indie rock.

Her Head’s On Fire features musicians whose histories run through some of the most important underground bands of the past three decades, but College Rock & Clove Cigarettes stands on its own as a warm, immediate, and hook-heavy debut.
