Giles Corey 'Hinterkaifeck'

Hinterkaifeck is a stark three-song release from Giles Corey, the stripped-down solo project of Dan Barrett of Have a Nice Life.

Originally recorded in 2013 ahead of a series of live performances, the EP pushes Barrett’s music into an even more minimal and intimate space. Bleak folk, ambient texture and raw emotional weight sit at the center, with themes of isolation, mortality and the paranormal running through the record.

The title references the infamous 1922 Hinterkaifeck murders near Munich, Germany, adding another layer of unease to a release already defined by tension and restraint.

Originally issued by Enemies List Home Recordings as a digital-only release, Hinterkaifeck is now available on vinyl through The Flenser as a one-sided 12" with a special etching on the B-side.
