Drowningman 'Busy Signal At The Suicide Hotline (2012)'

Originally released in 1998, Busy Signal at the Suicide Hotline introduced Drowningman as one of the strangest and most volatile bands to emerge from the late-’90s hardcore underground. The Burlington, Vermont group took the metallic hardcore of the era and twisted it into something far less predictable, colliding dissonant guitar work, noise-rock abrasion, frantic rhythmic shifts and surprisingly melodic passages.

Rather than settling into a single lane, Drowningman constantly pull the songs apart and rebuild them mid-flight. Jagged riffs give way to sudden hooks, chaotic bursts collapse into quieter passages, and vocalist Simon Brody moves between desperation, sarcasm and outright fury.
