Carry On ‘A Life Less Plagued’

Originally released in 2001, Carry On’s A Life Less Plagued is a landmark of early-2000s California hardcore and one of the defining releases in Bridge Nine Records history. Fast, furious and emotionally direct, the album helped lay the groundwork for the next wave of West Coast hardcore while remaining deeply rooted in straight-edge punk.

Recorded at GodCity Studio by Kurt Ballou of Converge, the 12-track LP tears through songs like “The View,” “Killing A Sound,” “Roll With The Punches” and “X’s Always Win” in under 20 minutes. The record’s impact extended far beyond Carry On’s short run, with members later going on to bands including Terror, Betrayed, Internal Affairs and Piece By Piece. 

Now back in print for its 25th anniversary, A Life Less Plagued returns on vinyl for the first time in more than a decade, celebrating one of Bridge Nine’s earliest and most enduring full-length releases.
