About The Author

Brian Peterson became involved in the Midwest hardcore scene after moving to the Quad Cities area as a teenager. Since 2001, he has written about music and film for publications including Thrasher, Punk Planet, Skyscraper, Copper Press, and American Music Press. His own experiences in hardcore, along with years spent interviewing musicians, activists and other participants in the scene, formed the foundation for Burning Fight.

Peterson spent roughly six years researching the book, ultimately interviewing around 150 people connected to the hardcore scene of the late 1980s and 1990s.
