Bloodhorse 'A Malign Star'

A Malign Star is the long-awaited second full-length from Boston’s Bloodhorse, featuring members of American Nightmare, The Red Chord, and All Pigs Must Die.

Heavy, bleak, and relentlessly physical, the record moves between post-metal, sludge, stoner rock, and hardcore without settling neatly into any one of them. Massive riffs and tightly controlled dynamics give way to moments of speed, unease, and atmosphere, creating a record that feels both immediate and oppressive.

Across A Malign Star, Bloodhorse wrestle with self-destruction, alienation, doubt, and dread, balancing brute force with a sharp sense of restraint. The songs are dense without becoming shapeless, and heavy without sacrificing the clarity that has always made the band stand apart.

“Bloodhorse might be the best kept secret in the world of post-metal/stoner-rock (with a touch of hardcore/punk). Their execution as a beast of a three piece is downright awe-inspiring. Massive riffs, clean songwriting, and perfectly balanced instrumentation. Absolutely essential for fans of the genre.”
