As The Sun Sets 'Untitled Discography'

As The Sun Sets’ Untitled collects the complete recorded works of the influential Providence, Rhode Island band, available together on vinyl for the first time.

Formed in 1998, As The Sun Sets quickly became one of New England’s most volatile heavy bands, combining metallic hardcore, grindcore, noise, and math rock into something fast, technical, abrasive, and deliberately unpredictable. Their live shows became almost as notorious as the music itself, earning the band a reputation for performances that felt genuinely dangerous.

Between 1999 and 2002, As The Sun Sets recorded three releases before breaking up. Their songs were short, dense, and relentlessly heavy, but the records also made room for piano interludes, atmospheric drones, and experimental noise, creating a much stranger and more dynamic experience than a straightforward hardcore record.

During their brief run, the band toured throughout the East Coast and Midwest and shared stages with Converge, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, American Nightmare, Pig Destroyer, and Hatebreed. Though their time together was short, their mix of technical precision, chaos, and experimentation would prove deeply influential on the heavy music that followed.

For this definitive edition, all tracks were remixed by Kurt Ballou of Converge at God City and remastered by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Amenra), with entirely new artwork created for the collection.

“They're as intense as any record in this genre you'll ever hear. Everything about this album is intense, in fact. The guitars absolutely rip, the drums pound relentlessly, and the vocals are absolutely ear-shredding.” - KERRANG!
