American Nightmare 'Dedicated to the Next World'

Dedicated to the Next World finds American Nightmare refusing to live on their legacy. Released in 2023, the four-song EP delivers a concentrated burst of the urgency, darkness and emotional intensity that made the Boston band one of the defining voices of modern hardcore.

“How I Got Away” channels the anthemic force of classic American Nightmare, while “Self Check-Out” tears through a minute of stripped-down punk aggression. “Real Love” brings a raw proto-punk edge, and “Praying Hands on Fire” closes the record with echoes of the speed and intensity of bands like Bad Brains and Negative Approach.

Recorded live to 2-inch tape by American Nightmare drummer Alex Garcia-Rivera at Mystic Valley Recording Studio in Boston, the EP was mastered and cut for vinyl by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service.

Released by Heartworm Press, Dedicated to the Next World is American Nightmare sounding unmistakably like themselves while continuing to push forward more than two decades after their formation.
