Cult Leader 'A Patient Man'

Originally released in 2018, A Patient Man is the second full-length from Cult Leader, pushing the Salt Lake City band’s metallic hardcore into darker, more expansive territory.

Recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios, the album moves between violent bursts of metallic hardcore and slower, brooding passages that give the record a much wider emotional range. Songs like “I Am Healed,” “Curse of Satisfaction,” “Craft of Mourning” and “Share My Pain” hit with relentless force, while “To: Achlys,” “A World of Joy,” “A Patient Man” and “The Broken Right Hand of God” stretch into longer, more atmospheric pieces.

Across 10 tracks, Cult Leader balance abrasion, melody, tension and release in a way that makes A Patient Man feel both punishing and deeply considered. The result is one of the band’s most complete statements, rooted in hardcore but reaching far beyond it.
